The oh so sweet picture managed to bring out my wicked side. You know I can’t allow my characters to just be happy…right?
“I never thought I’d see you again,” Scarlet whispered as she wrapped her arms around Devlin’s neck and kissed him softly. Easing back his dark eyes troubled her.
“I couldn’t stay away. You mean so much to me.”
Her eyes filling with tears she could tell he was holding something back. “What’s wrong, my love?”
“Wrong? Nothing.” Looking away Devlin inhaled deeply. “Let’s enjoy being together. It’s a beautiful night.”
“Devlin, please tell me what’s bothering you. We haven’t seen each other in months. You seem so distant.”
“Just worried.”
“About me finding out?” Her enraged voice startled them both.
