From a Dom’s Point of View

Well for so many of you how know me you know I have been writing about Jessie – or my heroine in On Becoming His – and her thoughts about a strong woman entering into a D/s relationship. The story has morphed and changed so much over time to include much more of my hero or Luke as the Dom’s point of view. I’m lucky enough now to have such a talented co writer in Benjamin Russell and of course he and I have gotten very close during this process. He is really bringing such a tremendous voice to Luke and what Luke has to go through with and for his needs.

When I started Jessie’s journey I truly never realized how touching this women would become for a lot of women. I’m blessed and honored to have had so many kind words and wonderful reviews. There now are five planned in the collection and we have a new fan page to bring you excerpts and pieces of flash fiction that will never be included in the books. The second is called Lessons Learned and we’re trying to put all the finishing pieces on it. What we realized is that like Jessie and Luke’s journey, this is a journey for Benjamin and I on many levels.

Luke’s POV has become vitally important for us in bringing you what a man/Dom might be thinking about in terms of finding and nurturing the right woman that he not only wants to own but also is deeply in love with. This might not be the case for all D/s relationships but for them the love is tremendous. The third is going to be called On Becoming Her Sir and there are reasons why Luke hasn’t allowed himself a sub in ten years. Can you imagine the angst in trying to figure out how to really begin again. I thought for the holiday weekend I’d bring you really the first taste of Luke’s POV from On Becoming His and what I’m hearing from a lot of women is that Luke is such a powerful man in his quest methods that they could see themselves being his sub. Take a peek and then you tell me…

Jezebel Waters, Jessie to her friends, had everything in her life that she could ever want. From a successful career as a top-level executive, a hefty salary and fabulous friends, she had the world in the palm of her hand – except for the right man in her life. In the back of her mind she knew she was missing something and the realization was almost terrifying. She craved being under the command of a powerful Dom, but how the hell could she admit to anyone what she considered her kinky needs?

Resigned to living a very vanilla life, she entered into several relationships and every one of them failed miserably. Jessie gave up on love – until she met Luke Brennan. From his gorgeous chocolate-laced skin to his quiet yet powerful demeanor, Jessie was hooked on learning more. Growing close, when he admitted his own needs, she knew she’d found everything she’d been searching for her entire life. While Luke wanted nothing more than to own her, he was hesitant to enter into the agreement until she completely understood the life she would lead as a collared woman.

While she was more than eager to learn, she remained terrified of the girl inside and of her dark hungers. Join Jessie on an emotional journey as she delves deep into her psyche, not only beginning to understand her willingness to become Luke’s in every way, but also to comprehend exactly what the new beginning would entail — trust and control. Through poems and prose, this story is just the beginning for both…

When they were back in her house, Luke was more than curious to see what she was going to do and say. Jezebel had remained quiet during the ride but he’d been able to read her thoughts easily. She was debating what, if anything, to tell him about her chance meeting with a stranger. For most people, the mere thought would be nothing, a passing interest. But to him this was something he had to know about her. Her flirtations in the past had bothered him, but he’d know her teasing side was a part of her and of course one that had drawn him to her months before. In the very same dark bar. As she continued to wrap her mind around the fact he’d taken her to the same bar on purpose, she stole fleeting looks in his direction, her face flushed.

The single night he knew she was thinking about remained a sore spot between them and one they hadn’t talked about since the ugly occasion. On the few occasions he’d disciplined her, she’d accepted without question, lowering her body over his knees, but the punishment had never been harsh. On the night in the bar, the situation erupted, involving too many flirtations and heavy inebriation. While he’d put her to bed without saying a word, their discussion the next day had proven to be enlightening for both of them. The day had been the second time she’d actually asked to be punished and seeing the anguish on her face on that day had truly driven him further into his commitment of becoming the Dom she not only wanted but also needed. Yes, he’d been hurt and hadn’t been able to admit to her how much, but she knew and had been almost destroyed because of her behavior. And after that everything with regards to their relationship had changed. It was time to put the event to rest.

Jezebel stood quietly next to the dining room table, her finger absently rubbing back and forth across the seam of her mouth.

“What’s wrong, Jezebel?”

Darting her eyes toward him, she was visibly trembling. She opened and closed her mouth before turning away.

“What is it? You can tell me anything. In truth, you need to tell me always what’s troubling you in order for me to be able to help and advise. Do you understand?”

“Yes, sir.” Jezebel’s voice was barely audible.

He waited as she clenched her fist. “Don’t you trust me, Jezebel?”

“Yes, sir!” Jerking her head up, her eyes remained wide open. “Of course I do with everything I have inside of me. The apprehension you’re sensing isn’t about you or about my decision.”

“Then what?”

“Sir, I know you took me to the bar on purpose. I don’t blame you of course. I was stupid that night months ago. Coming onto that guy wasn’t my finest hour,” Jezebel groaned. “I realize this speaks to sharing and…”

Interrupting her, Luke shook his head. “No, you were human. We all make mistakes.”

“But I disparaged you.”

Sighing, Luke rubbed his eyes. “No, you didn’t. Granted, I wasn’t happy but things happen and you’re a beautiful woman.”

Giving him a quick smile, Jezebel fiddled with the bodice of her dress. “You know, after that night I was mortified about what I’d done. Of course you knew I flirted and you had even encouraged but to go to that extreme was just wretched. I don’t even know why it happened.”

“Because we’d been talking about what kind of man or woman we’d allow into our bed, our lives. You saw a man you wanted who paid attention to you. That’s all that happened.”

“But what if I…we…”

“But it didn’t.” He watched her processing the information and resisted going to her. She had to forgive herself.

Nodding, Jezebel smiled. “Okay.”

“No, that’s not all. What is it? What are you so worried about?” He could see her stealing glances at her purse. For some reason Luke knew this was a last of her independent streak. She simply enjoyed flirting.

“I…” Groaning, she walked closer and then stopped short. “I’ll be right back, sir.”

He studied her stilted movements as she walked out of the room, her head down. Interesting. When she came back into the room, he tried to mask his growing smile as the brush in her hand told him everything he needed to know. How simple a gesture and one he would not soon forget. “Jezebel?”

Groaning, she moved closer and laid the brush on the table before reaching inside her purse. Pulling out the folded note, she started to open it and then shook her a head. “You have to see this. A man approached me in the bar and gave me his number.”

“And you were planning on calling him?”

“No. Yes. No! Shit. Okay, I was flattered and I… I was wrong. I should have told you right away.” Laughing softly, she held out the piece of paper. “I felt like it was a repeat performance and the whole thing scared me.”

“Yes, you should have told me. Tell me honestly, do you want this man?”

“No. I…”

“Look at me.” Refusing to take the paper, he watched her face wrinkle in disappointment with her own behavior and couldn’t stand the rouse any longer. “Look at me. You didn’t even look at what he gave you, did you, Jezebel?”

Lifting her head, she narrowed her eyes and then stole a glance at the note. “No.”
“And did he offer you his bed?”

What do you think? I hope I’ve brought a vital representation as Luke and Jessie have become terribly important to Ben and I.

Kisses and don’t forget to like our fan page.
