My Very Special Guest…Mary Wehr

I have a wonderful guest today and she and I have gotten to know each other through talks on Facebook. It’s funny how you can meet someone and share things you may never with others you talk to face to face with. She is an awesome lady and a good friend and I am so proud she has her first book out. Take a peek as you get to know her in a special way just like I have.

How did you get started writing?

After reading so many romance novels I thought to myself, I can do this. LOL, it’s not aseasy as it looks, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

What inspires you the most?

Hopes that I can made a reader smile

Are you lucky enough to write full time or do you have another job?

I work part time in a doggie bakery. It’s fun.

If you could do any other job – what would it be?

I’m happy with what I’m doing. I love animals.

What genre/s do you write in?

Erotic Contemporary

What’s another genre you’d love to try writing?

Ménage m/f/m. The idea of two hot guys taking care of their woman both in and out of bed is sexy.

What do your friends and family think about your writing?

They are happy for me.

What’s the biggest misconception about being a writer?

It’s not as easy as it looks. Also, people seem to be under the impression that writers make lot of money. The first thing someone says when I tell them that I wrote a book is, “Remember me when you’re rich”.

What do you love and hate most about writing?

I love being able to bring two people together. I like my heroines to be feisty and give the hero some aggravation. Poor guy. I do make sure he loves every minute even though he’s ready to pull out his hair.

I hate writer’s block. I get so frustrated when I sit in front of my pc and my mind draws a blank.

What are you currently working on and what’s coming up for you?

I’m working on an m/f/m story. After that, I don’t know.

What experiences have you had working with your publisher/s?

I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful Beachwalkpress has been to me. Pamela Tyner is very easy to work with and knows her stuff.

What is the one most difficult aspect of getting out there in writing?

I know the scene I want to write, yet there are times I have trouble expressing myself so the reader can understand what it is I’m trying to convey.

How do you see the industry in two years/five years

Print books will always be here, but not as much as EBooks because of the availability. Reading steamy romance has always been my favorite past time. I doubt if the romance genre will ever die.

What do you like and dislike about the e-publishing business?

I like the convenience of buying an Ebook. ‘Pirating’ books is wrong and not fair to the author or the publisher. Most of us wouldn’t do it. I mean, the price of an E-Book is fairly cheap. A lot of hard work goes into writing a story.

If you could suggest anything to your publisher/s – what would it be?

I only have experience with one publisher and I wouldn’t change a thing about Beachwalk.

What type of marketing has helped you the most?

I’m not an experienced blogger, but it does help to get your name out there. Also facebook is a good site to be on. I’ve met a lot of good people on fb.

Some fun questions…

Do you write to music and if so, to what?

No. I’m usually sprawled out on my recliner in front of the tv.

What type of movies do you enjoy and hate?

I love the old westerns and horror flicks. My favorite is, ‘The Mask of Zorro’. Antonio Banderas is hot. Action films like ‘The Avengers’ are a fav too.

Do you have a ritual with writing?

I usually think up a story in my head and then type it down after I have it all figured out. Then I go back and add things here and there.

Who is your favorite character you’ve written and why?

In ‘A Heart’s Endeavor’, Melanie Manning is diagnosed with clinical depression. So many people suffer with the disease and don’t realize that they could be helped and the opportunity to live a happier life is within reach. There’s nothing wrong with having depression and my hero, Jack is determined to make Melanie realize that no matter what he’ll always be there for her.

What’s something you can’t live without for writing?

For me writing is a diversion from the crap that goes on in the world today.

Favorite color and does it suit your personality and why?

I love purple. People comment that purple enhances my blue eyes. LOL my best feature.

If you had to use a food or drink to entice your love, what would it be and how would you use it?

I’d dab chocolate pudding on my nipples and my stomach. My hubs loves chocolate pudding.

What’s your favorite seduction song?

I’m not for slow songs. Kiss’ ‘Let’s put the X in Sex’ and ‘Pour some Sugar on Me’ by Def Leppard are hot. Music that’s fast and something I can strip to for hubs turns me on.

What would you consider to be the most romantic place on earth and why?

I really don’t know. Any place is romantic if the man I love is with me.

What character would play you in a movie?

Someone feisty.

What male star do you consider the hottest and why?

I love Chris Hemsworth. His build and voice. He kinda fills out that costume he wears in the Avengers quite nicely.

Are you afraid of the dark?

Not really.

Favorite family tradition?

The holidays are nice. I have four brothers. I’m the only girl so I do get picked on a lot, but I can give as good as I get if I’m pushed hard enough. LOL

What level of YOU do you bring into your writing?

I like to laugh and see the funny side of things. I try to include humor in my writing.

White chocolate or dark chocolate?

Victoria’s Secret or Old Navy?

The Beach or the Mountains?

Plain or chunky peanut butter?

Favorite Pizza

Red or black?

Soft or hard?

Hard, of course;)

Candy Kisses or Twizzlers?

Candy Kisses

Kinky or romantic?

More on the kink side with a little romance thrown in.
