I love highlighting authors and this lady is one of my favorites. She’s spicy, a talented author and a great friend. She also has multiple personalities just like me – in writing that is. Please welcome my very special guest – Sharita
What inspires you the most?
SL: Hmm, besides hot men and any kind of pictures? Everyday life and problems as well.
Are you lucky enough to write full time or do you have another job?
SL: No, I have an EDJ. Thankfully, DH has allowed me to stay PT though so I only have 25-30 hrs away from my kids and writing.
What genre/s do you write in?
SL: I write mostly m/m but I do some m/f, I’m trying my hand at f/f this coming year. I’ve also done mmf too. I just love romance!
What do your friends and family think about your writing?
SL: Luckily, my family and friends are very supportive. My mom is deeply religious so most of what I write she can’t read. My DH is somewhat of a homophobe but he supports me wholeheartedly.
What’s the biggest misconception about being a writer?
SL: That we make a lot of money. *laughs* Best sellers don’t translate to being E.L James all the time. There are writers that do very well but a lot of them still have day jobs to keep an address as one of my instructors said.
What are you currently working on and what’s coming up for you?
SL: Well I’m finishing up my follow-up to I Like Em Pretty by Michael Mandrake. It’s basically done but this is only the rough draft. I have several other rewrites and revisions on the docket as well as new stories for the coming year.
What do you like and dislike about the e-publishing business?
SL: What I like is with e-publishing it is somewhat easier to get published. Publishers, especially in the m/m genre, are more apt to take a look at your work. What I dislike? The split between pubs and authors; most of the time it’s only 40 percent. Go back to that question about misconception. But again, I don’t write for the money, I love what I do, that’s what matters.
Some fun questions…
Do you write to music and if so, to what?
SL: Just about everything. Jazz, heavy music, love songs if my characters are in the mood.
Do you have a ritual with writing?
SL: At the kitchen table with Coca-Cola nearby.
What’s your favorite seduction song?
SL: My original is Inside My Love by Minnie Ripperton but I love Do You Mind by Janet Jackson, that’s on my list of romantic/seduction songs.
What male star do you consider the hottest and why?
SL: Oh this is really hard. You know I have a ton of them. I’d have to say Jason Momoa. He’s just gorgeous. The tanned skinned, his body is in great shape. That hair, even though he cut it. Ugh… he’s just a dreamboat!
Plain or chunky peanut butter?
SL: Plain
Favorite Pizza
SL: Sausage with green pepper and mushroom
Red or black?
SL: Black
Soft or hard?
SL: Hard
Kinky or romantic?
SL: Give me romantic!
